Today the theme was original score - music !
Because besides the fact that bottle films win Oscars primarily through performance and screenplay (12 Angry Men, The Father, Room's Best Actress) - that's the reliable path. Score is a force multiplier that occasionally wins its own category (Hateful Eight, Gravity), but it has never been the engine of a bottle film's Oscar success on its own, and the genre's defining titles often won nothing for music at all.
Which actually sharpens our earlier strategic takeaway rather than contradicting it: prioritize casting and performance-driven direction as the primary Oscar vector - that's what the bottle-film record rewards - and treat the distinctive original score as the Hateful-Eight-style differentiator that can claim a craft category and elevate the whole.
So we are attempting to go with a "Vargsången" (the world song) lullaby-anchored, original-score-driven music. Let's see if they'll allow us to build a soundtrack inspired by it without stepping on license toes. MORE
